| If you are any of the following, you can easily establish your company. 1. You are a permanent resident of Japan. 2. You have a Japanese spouse. 3. Your spouse is a permanent resident of Japan . 4. You have “long term” residency. 5. You are a Japanese national. 6. You are a Japanese citizen with an unrestricted work visa. Please check the information at the Japan Immigration Bureau. For persons who are not in the above categories, the following applies. If you are living outside of Japan, you will need to apply for an entry visa for coming to Japan. If you are already living in Japan, you will change the type of visa when you start the business after establishing your company. If your original visa is in the categories of “ humanities, knowledge and international business, transfer within your company, technology, skill, and family stay”, you cannot establish a company. You need an “Investment and management” visa in order to be able to establish a company in Japan. |

| Procedure for establishing a company. Please check the information at the Legal Affairs Bureau. (in Japanese) Prior preparation. (Preparation of a Business plan)  Decide the Company name (need to investigate and register the company name at the Legal Affairs Bureau). Create certificate of company’s purpose. Have certificate of company’s purpose notarized at the Legal Affairs Bureau. Order a company seal. Transfer the capital to your personal bank account. Prepare the necessary documents to resister your company. Apply for company registration at Legal Affairs Bureau. Completion for company establishment (You can get a certified copy of the company registration within two weeks after your successful application ) Open the company bank account. Report the company establishment including tax issues to the tax office and the Legal Affairs Bureau.
